À propos de ce site

(cette page n'est pas encore traduite)

This website is produced by myself. This means that none of the articles get here by simply copy pasting. I sometimes borrow an image here and there, if I do so I mention it. Otherwise all photos, texts, drawings and icons have been created and/or written by myself. I am into a few things the big 3 axes would be, computing, photography and complaining about shit.

Softwares and Technologies

The content management system (Php/MySQL) as well as the markup (HTML5/CSS) has been developed by myself, this includes a work in progress CMS called "Blah CMS". The softwares/languages/technologies used to create this whole mess are:

  • Vim
  • Php
  • MySQL
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Inkscape
  • Gimp
  • KColorChoser
  • Apache
  • Subversion
  • Firebug
  • Debian

I have used some other stuff in the past like Flash, Illustrator and Photoshop, but those days are over. Another thing here is that there is no javascript on this site, yes this means no google analytics as well. Javascript does not mean that it's bad, however I would only use it in a case where it was impossible to do what I need with the above mentionned stuff. As well Javascript should only enhance a website, many webmasters have become dependant to it to a point that by visiting their sites without JS activated on your browser you may notice many things don't work, sometimes even inlcuding "security" features.

About Comment Moderation

In the battle against Spam comments and all that crap the Internet (or most of it) has given up on being reasonable. In order to comment on most sites you will have to sign up for an account and decipher some words or prove you know what 2 + 3 is. Those that have implemented all of that crap have lost their minds going on a complicated route, sometimes giving up their comment moderation to a 3rd party. I say, "OMGWTFF!! Just moderate the comment and get on with it". Of course it's not that simple but almost. Comment spammers want to send links, they use BB code or HTML tags.

On this site you do not need to sign up or even have a valid email address. All I ask is that you provide a name, email address that seems valid and a message. Your message may not contain BBcoded links or HTML links (if you do, you get an error message and you can correct your comment). With just this method I get almost no spam comments anymore. All this without punishing users that have issues reading "captcha" words/numbers, don't have a facespace account or simply don't know what 2 + 3 is.
